The Gospel for the 20th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year B (John 6:51-58), focuses on Jesus' teaching about the Bread of Life. In this passage, Jesus tells the crowd that He is the living bread that came down from heaven. He explains that whoever eats this bread will live forever, and that the bread He gives is His flesh for the life of the world. Jesus emphasizes the importance of eating His flesh and drinking His blood, which brings eternal life and unity with Him. This teaching highlights the profound mystery of the Eucharist, where believers are invited to partake in the divine life through Christ.
Let Us Pray
Lord Jesus, You are the Bread of Life who came
down from heaven to give us eternal life.
We thank You for the gift of Your body and blood,
offered for the salvation of the world.
Help us to receive You with open hearts,
so that we may be united with You and live in Your love.
Nourish our souls with Your presence,
and strengthen us to follow Your will each day.
May we always remember that in You, we find true life.
Amen.
