Welcome Back

Welcome back students and staff! We hope everyone had a wonderful break. This term promises to be filled with great opportunities for both key learning and extra curricular activities. I encourage all students to take full advantage of what MBSC offers while keeping up with their core class requirements. Please discuss your progress and reflect on the term with your Home Group Teacher to ensure a balanced approach is maintained.

Chronicles

As Mount Beauty Secondary College continues to refine and implement the School Wide Positive Behaviour Support frameworks, we have activated essential Compass functions that allow students and parents to monitor student behaviour.

Parents and students are now notified of positive chronicle entries, which will include a brief comment explaining why the student is receiving this recognition. This update is vital for reinforcing and celebrating when expectations are met or surpassed.

While parents can also track both minor and major behaviour breeches, these entries will not replace the crucial phone calls needed for discussing behaviour. Unlike the positive chronicle comments, parents will not receive notifications for these entries, so we ask that you regularly check your student's profile to monitor this. If you have any questions about the entries, please contact the relevant teacher through the school office or via email.

For additional support with Compass functions, please feel free to reach out to your student's Home Group Teacher, Student Engagement Leader, or me directly. We are here to assist in supporting students with meeting school and classroom expectations while maintaining our important relationship with families and guardians.

Uniform

With the colder weather, it is essential for students to adhere to the uniform requirements. We understand that traveling to and from school can be chilly, but students must be in full uniform upon arrival.

If a student cannot wear the proper uniform for an unavoidable reason, please email the Home Group Teacher or send a note so an out-of-uniform pass can be issued. We greatly appreciate the support of parents and guardians in ensuring students are in uniform every day.

Family Partnership

At Mt Beauty SC, we welcome and encourage parents/guardians to be partners in a student's learning journey. Teachers are available, and you are encouraged to contact them to check how your student(s) are performing. You can phone the Office, or send an email to the relevant staff member via Compass.
