Principal's Report

Simone Roy

Welcome to Term 3! Winter seems to be coming and going at the moment, but for all those that like to get out on the snow, there has been enough to keep everyone going.

The ski program starts next week, with the first Downhill day on Wednesday the 24th of July, and the first Cross Country afternoon on Thursday 25th. Please make sure your students have all the required equipment, including gear for all weather. Fingers crossed we will continue to get a few wintery blasts which will add to the snow that is currently there.

Leadership Structure

With the new leadership structure in place this year, there have been a number of changes made, including title name changes. As Semester 2 starts, it is worth a reminder of some of the key people you may need to be in touch with, especially as there were some staffing changes throughout Semester 1.

The Student Engagement Leaders (formerly the Year Level Coordinators) are: Year 7 – Vicky Levesque; Year 8 – Sarah Laidlaw; Year 9 – Brad Redmond; Year 10 – Jenny Farrington; Year 11 – Shantelle Stimson and Year 12 – Colleen Adams.

The Learning Area Leaders (formerly Faculty Coordinators) are: English – Belinda Cunningham; Humanities – Mel Janson; Maths – Jarrah Brennan; Science – Josh Davies; Art/Tech – Nicole Lodge; PE/Health/OEd/Sport – Kate Parris.

For students with special learning needs, many should have an Individual Education Plan (IEP). Rosemary Oldis used to be the coordinator in this role, but with the change in the leadership structure, this position was incorporated into the Leading Teacher role, filled by Sarah Laidlaw. Similarly, the Curriculum Coordinator role, which was managed by Le-Anne McCraw last year, was incorporated into the Learning Specialist role, which Jarrah Brennan continued in this year.

Child Safe Reminder

We ask all visitors to school to attend the office on their arrival, regardless of the reason they are visiting. This ensures those that need to sign in do and if a child needs to be signed out, it is often easier and quicker for one of the office staff to find them.
