CLEVER CLASS

Bush Kinder Session one

This week was our first bush kinder session and the children were buzzing with excitement. They spent their time exploring the natural environment, immersing themselves in various activities. When we first arrived, the children spent some time exploring the area and soon split off into groups to explore. This first group of children began by making a campfire. They used sticks and pretended to build a fire, discussing how it would keep them warm in the bush. It was heartwarming to see their collaboration.

Next, some of the children, decided to create cubby houses. They used large sticks and branches around the area to lean against trees and fences. Their creativity was boundless! They worked together, showing great teamwork, to build little shelters.

They showed their balance and climbing skills, using ladders and rocks, carefully maneuvering through the makeshift obstacles, demonstrating both physical agility and confidence.

The use of these unconventional materials provided rich opportunities for imaginative play and collaboration, aligning beautifully with the principles of fostering creativity and teamwork as highlighted in the EYLF (Outcome 4, Children are confident and involved learners).
