NOW OPEN: BOOKINGS FOR PARENT TEACHER MEETINGS 1st or 2nd July

A friendly reminder as we head into the winter months, personal hygiene is an important part that everyone plays to reduce the spread of viruses. If your child has a temperature or is feeling unwell, we kindly ask that they stay home to rest and recover.

Level 6 Leaders @ Assembly

Have you had the chance to get to assembly this year? Our year 6 cohort are doing an outstanding job in both running the show and presenting themselves as the leaders of the school.

LITERACY

The past fortnight students have continued to enjoy Nevermoor and experiment with the authorial technique of 'show, don't tell' to write descriptively. Students have used their senses to describe an island and are now in the publishing stages. If you have a moment to come and view their work, it is being displayed around our classrooms.

Additionally, students are reviewing their Semester One goals and updating some pieces to display relating to aspirations for their final months of primary school.

MATHS

In Mathematics, the students of level 6 will use the last two weeks of term to revise formal and written methods for the four processes. This will include work on Mathletics which we will beigin to use on a regular basis in Semester 2.

INQUIRY

The students continue to access the online Inquisitive platform to support their learning for Civics & Citizenship. Next week, we will revisit the two elections that each bus completed in Canberra at the Electoral Education Centre. We will combine the votes to complete a master recount to see what happens to the outcomes.

THE RESILIENCE PROJECT

The Challenge Cup

This week the students of year 6 have competed as individual classes in our termly challenge - The Challenge Cup. The Challenge Cup is where at the end of Term each class engage in friendly competition for the rights to hold the trophy pictured left. The value of the trophy is in the holding - not from the value.

Student Goals Semester 2

Coming to the end of Term, the level has been refocusing on their goals for learning and personal development. We have taken a different approach to this task for Semester 2 with a templated text that we have modified to reflect our own goals for personal and educational development. These posters are now beginning to appear in the building. Please feel free to come in and view these at any time.
