Digital Technology

Students in the Hive have been exploring a variety of different topics over the term.

Foundation and Year 1 students have been using the BeeBots to complete a variety of different challenges, including planning movements and exploring maps.

Year 2 students have explored the process of digital storytelling by creating storyboards and recording voice overs. Let’s hope we will be able to see their stories as feature films one day.

No flat batteries in sight when the Year 3s are working on electronics. Whether drawing circuit diagrams or wiring a lamp to a battery, the students all manage to find a way to shine as bright as the lamps.

Data Detectives are the role that has been given to Year 4. The detectives will find and record data whether it be numerical or informative and present their findings within charts and graphs that are both informative and creative.

Procedures and problems solving has been explored by the Year 5s in the form of digital algorithms. Students have created a variety of instructions for tasks and solutions in the form of flowcharts and pseudocode.

If you are in need of a Web Designer, Year 6 are the classes you should call. They will plan out the websites structure for you in the form of a flowchart and use versatile programs such as Wix to create a website with both style and substance.
