From the Boarding Captain

Hi everyone!
I hope everyone is having an enjoyable term and been keeping busy. The last few weeks at school have been quite busy with tests, sport and music commitments but I am very proud of all the boarders for doing their best and coping with busy schedules.
Friday Week Five was the whole school Interhouse Athletics Carnival. It was unusual being placed in winter this year but don’t worry, spirits were high. I am so proud to say there was so much support for all boarders in their event from everyone on the sidelines, really showing off our community spirit. I want to say a congratulations to any boarders who participated and got a few ribbons. I also want to shout out Joele Tralli (Year Seven) who won the Grammar Gift race against boys from all year groups (and beating his own Supervisor Lachie!).
Last week we had the World’s Greatest Shave at school with myself and Amy cutting our hair and Henry and Rif shaving!! There were many nerves and excitement and now there are many shaved heads. Good job to each of them who was able to raise money for the Leukemia Foundation.
These upcoming few weeks of term are filled with tests and exams so good luck to everyone! I know this time is tough but remember all you can do is your best and that is enough, so make sure you are stilling looking after yourself and one another. Soon after exams it is Country Week!!! I want to say a huge good luck to everyone heading to Perth and hopefully we come back with a few wins!
Our weekly Sunday Sessions soon will be spread back to outside as we are setting up the fire pit out the back of the dining hall. The deck will get a lot more use and there will be plenty of music to enjoy.
We have recently moved the netball ring out to the back of Eclipse and there has been much more excitement and interaction between houses which is always good to see. Not only do Eclipse and Breaksea use this shared space but Endeavour as well. This builds upon our already close boarding community and enables interactions with older and younger boarders.
With the change in weather and Albany becoming cold and raining like usual, there has been less beach rec but plenty of movies, gym sessions and trips around town to keep us all busy.
Wishing all our boarders and their families the best with seeding, landmarking, or whatever fun and fulfilling work you find yourself doing!
