OFFICE NEWS
SCHOOL SAVINGS BONUS UPDATE
If you have not yet re-allocated your School Savings Bonus from Uniform to School Activities and you are not planning to purchase any uniform in the next month – now is a good time to jump onto the portal and make the transfer.
At the end of the financial year any funds that remain allocated to Uniforms will automatically get transferred to the school for you to use on activities, however we have been told there could be a lag of at least four weeks until the funds are received by the school, due to the amount of processing that will need to happen for all the schools in the State.
We would like to recommend that the transfer is made prior to the end of the financial year if you are planning to use the SSB on school activities as we are unable to allocate it until we receive the transfer.
Just a reminder that if you would like to use your SSB for an activity please email:
greenhills.ps@education.vic.gov.au
With your child’s name and the activity you would like to use your fund towards.
ABSENCES
We currently have a lot of unexplained absences recorded on Compass, please check your child/ren’s absences on Compass and update:
If you have any queries regarding the absence, please email the office: greenhills.ps@education.vic.gov.au
STUDENT ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE
If you need to collect your child early for an appointment, please come to the office to sign them out. We are unable to have students waiting in the office, so please allow time to sign out and collect from the classroom (the office will advise if they are in a Specialist class). Please collect your child before or after recess and lunch times as they may not hear the announcements during these times.
CAMPS, SPORTS, EXCURSION FUND (CSEF)
School camps provide children with inspiring experiences in the great outdoors. Excursions encourage a deeper understanding of how the world works while sports teach teamwork, discipline and leadership. All are a part of a healthy curriculum. CSEF is provided by the Victorian Government to assist eligible families to cover the costs of school trips, camps and sporting activities.
If you hold a valid means-tested concession card or are a temporary foster parent, you may be eligible for CSEF. A special consideration category also exists for asylum seeker and refugee families. The allowance is paid to the school to use towards expenses relating to camps, excursions or sporting activities for the benefit of your child.
The annual CSEF amount per primary school student is $154.
If you received CSEF in 2024 you do not need to apply again, however if you are new to Greenhills and have a valid concession card or have an additional child (eg Prep) that commenced, please complete the attached form (available from the office too) and hand into the office with a copy of your concession card. Any queries please don’t hesitate to contact the office. Applications close 4th July 2025. Here is the link to complete the form :
