ARTIST OF THE TERM: VISUAL ARTS – Semester 1, Term 2, 2025
Throughout Term 2, students from Prep to Year 6 demonstrated incredible creativity and dedication in the Visual Arts. Each year level explored different artistic techniques, experimenting with a variety of materials and processes. The Artist of the Term was selected from each year level to recognize students who showed exceptional effort, creativity, and skill in their artwork. These students displayed a strong understanding of art elements, a willingness to experiment with new ideas, and a passion for visual expression. Their hard work and enthusiasm were truly inspiring, and their artworks were proudly celebrated within the school community.

Drawing Club Recognises Refugee Week
In recognition of Refugee Week, Drawing Club explored inspiring quotes by well-known refugees from around the world. Students reflected on these powerful messages and created thoughtful and expressive posters to celebrate resilience, courage, and hope.
Term 2 Visual Arts Highlights
Term 2 has been a wonderfully creative journey in Visual Arts! Students from all year levels have explored a diverse range of techniques, materials, and cultural art forms to express their ideas and creativity. Here are just some of the standout projects from across the school:
PSG & PCM – Eye-catching sculptures inspired by Alexander Calder, focusing on movement, balance, and dynamic design.
1CJ – Striking textile prints inspired by traditional Navajo patterns and symbolism.
2NH & 2HV – Colourful, textured owl weavings crafted with yarn and mixed media.
3JA & 3NS – Intricate Mehndi hand designs inspired by the rich traditions of South Asian art.
4ME, 4ST & 4JT – Beautifully crafted basket weaving projects exploring form, function, and structure.
5DG & 5SC – Vibrant yarn paintings inspired by the Huichol people, alongside personal textile stories that reflect student identity.
6EK & 6SJ – Thoughtful textile prints inspired by Indigenous Australian artists, telling powerful stories about family and culture.
Our students have shown outstanding creativity, engagement, and artistic growth throughout the term. We can’t wait to see what they create in Term 3 and beyond!
