Dear Families,
We have experienced particularly high levels of staff absence this week due to illness, which is unfortunately common at this time of year. Student illness has also been widespread, with some children absent for up to two weeks, clearly, there are some nasty bugs going around. Please take extra care, and as always, do not send unwell children to school.
Parking and Student Safety Reminder
A reminder that parking near the school crossing and within the staff car park gates poses a serious risk to student safety. We’ve observed many instances of families illegally stopping or dropping children in these zones. While we understand that mornings can be rushed, it is often the same families consistently arriving late.
We kindly ask that families aim to leave home 5–10 minutes earlier to help alleviate this safety concern. Please also remember that the designated drop-off zone directly in front of the school allows for 5 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes in the afternoon. We ask all families to observe and respect these times, as parking inspectors will be monitoring the area over the coming weeks.
What is Emotional Co-Regulation and Why is it Important?
Emotional co-regulation is the process by which parents, teachers, and caregivers support children in understanding and managing their emotions. It begins in early childhood and continues throughout life. By guiding children through emotional challenges, adults help them learn to navigate stressful situations and express their needs—important steps toward developing self-regulation.
This process is essential to a child’s emotional well-being and social development. For more information and helpful strategies, we recommend this resource:🔗 Emotional Co-Regulation Strategies – Learning Links
