Staff vs. Student Soccer Match
On Friday the 13th of June, Norwood had their fifth teacher vs student event of the year, this game was soccer. It was great to see so many teachers and students getting involved and leave their best on the field.
The students and teachers rotated through subs of different players throughout the game, with our school mascot, Byron making an appearance and also participating in the game. With the students trying to break the teachers winning streak of four games, it was heavily competitive, however the teachers held on!
Hopefully the students can get a win on the board in the next teacher vs student activity of Mario Kart that will be held on the last day of term!
Year 12 Formal
On the 26th of June, the Norwood class of 2025 had their formal at the Karralyka Centre. It was a perfect night to celebrate how far we have come, dress up, reflect on the year, and socialise.
A wide range of awards were won, selected by the year level, ranging from worst driver, class clown, most accident-prone, and future-focused. It was a chance to appreciate the qualities in our cohort, and potentially think to our futures.
Additionally, games were run by the leadership team, including the Oreo and tissue box game, plus limbo. It was a great opportunity to get everyone up and involved, whilst ensuring the night was entertaining.
Throughout the night, a photographer captured pictures for lasting memories, as well as a photo booth that provided instant pictures. Giving everyone endless opportunities to capture the moment to look back on in the future.
Year 12 is going by so quick, but formal created a time to stop, reminisce and enjoy the last moments of being in high school. A big thank you to all that made the night so memorable!
NAIDOC Week Fundraiser
At the start of Term 3, our Year 7 and Year 12 Student Leaders will unite to lead a fundraiser in recognition of NAIDOC Week. This important occasion celebrates the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and our student leaders are proud to champion its significance within our school community.
As part of the celebrations, a free dress day and BBQ will be held on Friday 25 July to support the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, an organisation dedicated to improving literacy outcomes for children in remote Indigenous communities. Through this initiative, students will not only raise funds but also foster greater understanding and appreciation of First Nations cultures.
