Oliver! Production

Lucy Filor - Production Director

It’s been an exciting and productive term for the Production Team and all involved!

The core cast and ensemble has been rehearsing after school on Mondays and Thursdays since the start of Term 1. At our most recent full-day rehearsal we finessed many ensemble scenes from both acts and (almost) completed our first Act 1 run-through.

Year 11 student Hayley T choreography in ‘Consider Yourself At Home’, ‘Oom-Pah-Pah’ and ‘Who Will Buy?’ is the perfect counterpart to the soaring harmonies of the chorus, taught by our incredible Choral Director and expert singing teacher Rachel Tunaley.

The costumes currently being fitted and finalised under the expert eye of Frances (who is busily ensuring there will be plenty of pockets to pick!) are under lock and key to prevent some of the staff from coveting them!

Year 11 and 12 VM classes have both made enormous contributions to our 2025 production. Rod Mitchell has overseen the Year 12 cohort as they have constructed a section of one of London’s bridges, the Bethnal Green skyline, a Pentonville streetscape, and loads of dirty old washing! These large set pieces will be complimented by the fantastic smaller set pieces built by the Year 11s, under the supervision of Liam Cusack. All the tables, benches, barrows, barrels, boxes, and a mighty fine mace will transform the (mostly) static set and transport us to the workhouse, street markets, Fagin’s Lair, the Three Dimples Tavern, and the relative comfort of the Brownlow’s living room.

Oliver! has a three-night run at the Karralyka Theatre Centre from 28–30 August 2025. Families of those in the cast, crew and orchestra should receive a pre-sale access code very soon! Tickets will be available for purchase by the broader school community from Sunday, 20 July.
