What is the AIP (Annual Improvement Plan) at St Anthony's?
At St Anthony’s Primary School, our Annual Improvement Plan (AIP) is a key document that outlines the school’s priorities for strengthening learning, teaching and student wellbeing each year. It reflects our commitment to providing high‑quality education grounded in Catholic values and the mission of our school community.
The AIP helps ensure that every student at St Anthony’s is supported to learn well, grow in faith, and achieve their personal best.
Why St Anthony's has an AIP
The AIP guides our school’s direction by:
- Setting clear goals for improving student learning.
- Supporting teachers to continually strengthen their practice.
- Ensuring our work aligns with Catholic identity and the vision of St Anthony’s.
- Tracking progress so we can measure the impact of our strategies.
How the AIP Supports the Teaching of Subjects
The AIP directly shapes what happens in classrooms across St Anthony’s. It helps teachers focus on the areas that will make the greatest difference for students. This includes:
- Strengthening Literacy and Numeracy
- Setting targets for writing and mathematics
- Using evidence‑based teaching approaches
- Providing additional support for students who need it
- Enhancing Teaching Practice
- Ongoing professional learning for teachers
- Using student data to guide planning
- Working collaboratively across year levels to ensure consistent, high‑quality teaching
Maths Challenge Day & Open Day
On Tuesday 3 March from 9-10am, students from Kindergarten to Year 6 will dive into a range of hands‑on, minds‑on activities designed to spark curiosity and creative thinking. Classes will work together to solve puzzles, explore mathematical concepts in playful ways and stretch their problem‑solving skills. It’s a wonderful opportunity for students to see maths come alive, build confidence and discover just how fun and collaborative learning can be.
