Meet the Wellbeing Team
Our Secondary Years Wellbeing Team promotes, supports and enhances the social, emotional and mental wellbeing of all students, which helps create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment. The Wellbeing Team works closely with all Secondary Year Level Teams to help create a learning environment where all students can engage, learn and thrive.
The Resilience Project
Hazel Glen College has partnered with The Resilience Project (TRP) to teach simple strategies to Secondary Year students in Years 7 to 12, which they can use to promote their overall wellbeing and enhance their resilience. The key principles of Gratitude, Empathy, Mindfulness (GEM) and Emotional Literacy create the framework of lessons which will be explicitly taught during iThrive lessons, and in other aspects of the College. TRP is an evidence-based program which helps create lifelong wellbeing habits for the entire Hazel Glen Community, including students, staff and families.
Students will require a TRP journal, which is still available to purchase for $10 on the Compass event, as they will be commencing the TRP curriculum next week in iThrive classes.
Safe Parking Around Schools and School Crossing Supervisor Safety Awareness Day
Today, February 6th 2026, is the School Crossing Supervisor Safety Awareness Day. This day is to remind drivers to slow down around schools, recognise that the school crossing is a workplace for all school crossing supervisors, and is a day to honour the life of a crossing supervisor, Brian Beach, who sadly passed away at his crossing in February 2024 in Wodonga. All crossing staff will be wearing these ribbons. Please take some time to read about how we can keep our community and school crossing supervisors safe around the College.
