Principal's Message
Mrs Kylie Bryant - Principal
Welcome back to the new school year! I hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday break, filled with rest, relaxation, and quality time with family and friends. It’s wonderful to have all our students back, with learning resuming for everyone just yesterday. The buzz of the classrooms and playgrounds reminds us all of the exciting year ahead. At the moment, our students are sitting in holding classes while we finalise class numbers for 2026. We hope to have all students in the new classes by the end of the week.
Last week, our teachers participated in focused professional learning sessions, stage planning and preparation activities to nurture, support and inspire our students throughout the year. Their commitment to ongoing learning and collaborative practice is integral to providing the best educational experience for every child.
We are especially delighted to welcome our newest cohort—our Kindergarten students—who started school with huge smiling faces yesterday. It’s always a joy to see their excitement and curiosity as they begin their formal learning journey. To support our Kindy families, the P&C kindly hosted a “Tea and Tissues” morning, providing a warm and caring space for parents to connect and share their experiences as they brave this huge milestone.
I’d also like to thank the P&C for their work over the holidays, hosting not one but two Bunnings BBQs. Both days were hugely successful and lots of fun. Thank you to those families who assisted on the day with donations or their time, not to mention those who popped in and purchased a sausage sizzle or cake from the pop up bake stall.
I would like to warmly welcome all our new families. Roselea is a wonderful place to learn and grow, and we are excited to have you join our community. I would also like to officially welcome 3 new staff members: Tessa Napper, who joins us as a classroom teacher, and Vanessa Lord and Jaclyn Jauhiainen, our new School Counsellors. We are very lucky to have them in our team here at Roselea.
As we settle into the rhythm of the new year, I want to thank each member of our school community for their ongoing support and enthusiasm for the year ahead. Together, we’ll make this year engaging, inclusive, and full of learning achievements.
Here’s to an amazing year ahead!
Swimming Carnival
This Thursday, we will hold our annual Swimming Carnival, a wonderful day of friendly competition and community spirit, showcasing our students' skills and enthusiasm. If you have not yet finalised payment or given permission, please do so as soon as possible. All 3-6 students are expected to attend, and there will be no 3-6 classes at school on this day.
Year 6 Leader Induction Ceremony
Our Year 6 leaders will be inducted next Thursday at the Induction Assembly under our school COLA at 2.30pm-3.00pm.
Meet the Teacher
Week 4 will feature our much-anticipated ‘Meet the Teacher’ afternoon, a fantastic opportunity for parents and carers to connect with their child’s teachers, learn about the curriculum, and discuss how we can work together to support student success. This year, we will be hosting 4 parent-only ‘Meet the Teacher’ sessions. We ask that you make alternate arrangements for your children during this time. Each ‘Meet the Teacher’ session will begin in your child’s classroom and then move to the Library for a combined stage session. Session times are as follows:
Tuesday 17 February
Thursday 19 February
To culminate the ‘Meet the Teacher’ Week the P&C will be hosting a “Play and Popsicles” event on Friday 20 February from 3.00pm-4.00pm —a fun and informal event designed to help families socialise and build friendships.
