Swimming Sports

Our annual swimming carnival made a splash on a gloriously sunny day at the Pines Forest Aquatic Centre and what a day it was! With blue skies overhead and plenty of school spirit on display, the atmosphere was buzzing from the first whistle to the final race.

A huge thank you goes out to our amazing staff for their organisation, enthusiasm and patience. An even bigger shout-out to the students who proudly rocked their house colours and threw themselves into every event, whether that was racing down the pool or cheering loudly from the side-lines.

A special mention must go to our VM students, who were absolute legends behind the scenes, running activities around the pool all day and helping everything run smoothly. Their effort and professionalism did not go unnoticed, outstanding work, team!

When the final points were tallied, Aston emerged as the overall champions of the day. Monash and Derrimut battled it out for equal second place, with Freeman finishing in fourth.

Congratulations to all houses for their competitive spirit and positive attitude throughout the carnival.

Our top swimmers for 2026 were Owen H and Kate M, who claimed the title of Ultimate Eels after recording the fastest 50m freestyle times in the school. An impressive effort and well-earned bragging rights!

Overall, the carnival was a fantastic celebration of participation, teamwork and house pride. Thanks again to everyone involved for making it such an enjoyable and successful day. We’re already looking forward to doing it all again next year, hopefully with just as much sunshine and even more house spirit!

Senior Tennis

On Thursday 19 February, our Senior Boys and Girls Tennis teams competed at the Frankston Centenary Tennis Club in a great day of interschool competition.

The girls team entered one team and played three matches against Frankston, Elisabeth Murdoch and McClelland. While they were unable to secure a win on the day, the improvement across the matches was evident. Their serving became more consistent as the day progressed and they developed a much stronger understanding of the rules and scoring. It was a highly educational experience for them.

The boys fielded both an A and B team. The A team had a busy and successful day, recording strong wins against Carrum Downs and Elisabeth Murdoch. Heading into the final match undefeated, they faced Frankston in a tightly contested decider. Despite a terrific effort, they narrowly went down 4–2. A special mention goes to Jack Winter, who remained undefeated in his singles matches throughout the day, an outstanding achievement.
