Library Bytes

2026 is here!
Welcome back to another busy year in the library. As we approach the halfway mark of Term 1, it is great to see so many familiar faces along with many new faces visiting the library. Whether it be for private study, quiet reading, chilling out over a chess game, playing cards or spending a moment to fill in a few pieces of our community jigsaw puzzle - it is nice to see the library buzzing with so many students.
Our usual lunchtime activities have started with Chess Club on Tuesday and Lego Challenge on Wednesday at lunchtime.
Watch this space for some exciting Makerspace Activities to be announced in the coming weeks.

Warriors: Ivypool's Heart
By: Erin Hunter
It’s been many moons since Ivypool lost her daughter, Bristlefrost, to the Dark Forest, yet Ivypool can’t bear to move on. Even being named Deputy of ThunderClan feels meaningless in her grief. When Whistlepaw has a disturbing vision, one that could spell disaster for all the Clans, a group of cats is selected to go on a quest to investigate. Ivypool is happy to join their mission. Perhaps being away from her daily responsibilities will help her escape the painful memory of Bristlefrost’s death. The cats set out on an arduous journey, facing everything from painful hunger to bloodthirsty dogs. But nothing can prepare them for what they find.
Write Me, For You
By: Tillie Cole
Seventeen-year-old June Scott has always dreamt of becoming a novelist. To write the greatest love story ever told. One that would fill hearts and souls with happiness and joy.
However, June has never been in love and when she receives some devastating news, there doesn’t feel as if there’s much time left for her own beautiful love story. That’s until she meets Jesse Taylor who treats every day as if it could be his last. Which could be true. For them both.
Together their worlds light up and a love so strong grows between them. With days slipping away like sand in an hourglass June begins to write their love story. June is determined to give the boy she loves the story of them. And the world a reminder of who they might have been if their stars were written differently.
Because even when your heartbeat stops, a true love story never dies.
New Games!!!
The library has added a range of outdoor mega games to our collection for students to use at some of our annual sporting events.
State Library of Victoria Events
Creative Acts Exhibition
Artists and their Inspirations
When: 10.00am-6.00pm Until 31 May 2026
Cost: Free
Where: Victoria Gallery Link here.
Step inside the unseen inner worlds of artists to discover the intense, sometimes otherworldly forces that drive them to bring something entirely new into being.
Featuring new commissions by Australian creators including Peter Carey and Dr Deanne Gilson, the exhibition uncovers the spiritual connections, rituals and deeply personal quests that shape these artists' works.
Witness how Joan Lindsay’s Picnic at Hanging Rock came from a series of dreams, how Howard Arkley’s Tudor Village series was inspired by Melbourne’s Fitzroy Gardens and how bohemian icon Vali Myers drew from her spiritual connections with animals.
Explore the process, passion and practice of 5 visionary Australian artists through new works commissioned by State Library Victoria:
- Peter Carey sheds light on how he wrote True History of the Kelly Gang
- Dr Chandrabhanu OAM presents his magnum opus, the Dasamahavidya, a classical Odissi Indian dance work that is the culmination of his decades-long practice
- Dr Deanne Gilson shares her Wadawurrung ancestors’ Creation story through a powerful new work, Bundjil Morrgalyu Turt Barram Murrup / Bundjil and the Evening Star Spirits
- Barry William Hale taps into the library’s collection of rare books on ancient magic and Surrealism to explain the process behind his monumental automatic drawing spanning 9 metres
- Bundit Puangthong weaves together childhood memories in a 12-metre painting that combines his influences of traditional Thai temple painting and Melbourne’s graffiti culture.

A Message of Thanks
I would personally like to thank our community for the kind support and donations we continually receive to the library - whether it be lego, yarn, puzzles or books - without these contributions we would not be able to offer as many additional services that we are so lucky to provide to the students for lunchtime fun.
I would like to thank the families who recently donated a number of jigsaw puzzles - they are a welcome addition to our collection and much appreciated.
Thank you.
