Dear Parents/Carers,

Engaging with Our Community

Today, I had the pleasure of arranging a meeting with Vikki Ward, our local member for the Legislative Assembly for the electorate of Eltham, a former parent of students who attended Our Lady Help of Christians (OLHC), and a member of our School Advisory Council (SAC). It was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with Vikki and discuss various opportunities for our school.

During our meeting, Vikki reminisced about times past and the wonderful memories Vikki had of OLHC. She shared heartfelt stories about her children’s experiences here, highlighting the strong sense of community and the supportive environment that our school provides.

We also explored ways in which Vikki could help support OLHC in the future and she expressed a keen interest in being involved in our initiatives.

Excitingly, next term, some of our students will be studying the topic of governments. To enhance their learning experience, I have invited Vikki to return to OLHC to speak to the students and answer their questions. This will be a fantastic opportunity for our students to engage directly with a local government representative and gain valuable insights into how governments operate.

I am grateful for Vikki's time and her willingness to support our school. Her eagerness to share her knowledge and experience with our students is truly invaluable. I look forward to continuing our collaboration and discovering even more ways to engage our community in the vibrant life of OLHC.
