Year 7 & 8 Girls AFL

On Monday 20th of May, a group of Year 7 and 8 Girls went to Melton Recreation Reserve to represent Gisborne Secondary College in Western Ranges Division for AFL. On what turned out to be a miserable cold and rainy day, the girls were able to show great attitude, drive and positivity. In our first match of the round robin competition the girls beat Melton Secondary College 36-6 in a dominant display where they only conceded the goal late in the game. Straight after that, being afforded only a short break, we played Bacchus Marsh College. The girls started the game really strongly with a lead of 1-0 at halftime. Unfortunately, the girls gave their all but were just overrun in the second half losing the game 19-1. The girls really showed up for both games with everyone contributing! Special shout out to Coaches Samuel Hunt, Bridget Downey and Audrey W.
