RAID City Experience
RAID City Experience 15th and 29th of May
All Stars Performance at The Melbourne Arts Centre
This week for RAID we caught the train to Melbourne to watch the All-Stars Performance at the Arts Centre. The performance it was really good. After the show Stella and I got a photo with one of the performers Alejandro. Then Stella and I got lunch at Hello chicken.
Respect: I showed respect for the workers at the Arts Centre and people around the city by listening and watching out for people.
Achievement: I wanted a photo with Alejandro, so I went up to him and got a photo
Innovation: I watched the performance even though I wasn’t sure if it would be good, it turned out good.
Diversity: I thought trying a new place to eat would be good considering I always eat from McDonalds or KFC and turns out that it was the best chicken I have had in my life.

Melbourne University Science Gallery – Not Natural Exhibition
The walk and ride to see the science/art gallery was pleasant enough. I didn’t end up mapping too much this time. The science/art gallery was nice, a bit lacking, I some parts of exhibit in my opinion, but otherwise it was enjoyable. Walking to Melbourne central, was awesome, I have never seen a shopping centre so massive; it put high point to shame. Eating lunch was good, I got a lot of food for a good price. I also had a nice time on the ride back to Gisborne as well.
Respect: When taking the train ride up and back, we had to be respectful of the space we were in and the other people around us. We also had to show respect when we were at the gallery. This is because it was open to the public as well as us and there were other people.
Innovation: We had to be smart with getting to the gallery on time. It took a few different people including myself to get there in the quickest way possible, as we had to all make up for lost time.
Achievement: I mapped myself successfully to and from the gallery. I also mapped myself to Melbourne central.
Diversity: We saw a range of different art pieces and a range of different places. I also got to interact with many different people too.

China Town/Old Melbourne Gaol
On Wednesday the 15th all of Year 9 went into the city and got into groups of two classes, each two classes got to do different activities. My class went on the tour of China town and the tour of the Melbourne Jail. The tour of China town was really interesting, we saw people making dumplings from scratch and I learnt that Chinas lucky colours are red and gold. After the tour of China Town we went the Old Melbourne Goal which was really cool, there were death masks of people who had been hanged in Melbourne and there was a death mask of Ned Kelly.
Respect: We showed respect to all the people in the city and staying mindful of them. I listened to the presenters at both the Old Melbourne Gaol and China Town.
Diversity: We explored diversity when we went into China town and learnt about some of their traditions and beliefs.
