From The Principal's Desk

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to Week 6 of the term, as we pass the halfway point of the term.  This week and last week our Grade 5-6 students represented the school in the Winter sports of Football, Soccer and Netball.  Last week when I observed our students participating in the game, I was impressed with the way in which they represented our school and demonstrated our school values of Respect (to opposition, umpires, coaches) and Resilience (never giving up).  We also had our budding school reporters (Noah and Fatima) capturing some of the moments for our next edition of Delacombe Broadcasting Kids (DBK).

Last week we also celebrated Education Week with Special Person’s day. Many classrooms were overflowing with visitors and the Book Fair and coffee lines showed long lines of people.   It provided a positive atmosphere for students and the staff were appreciative of the interest from a range of visitors.

Over the past two weeks our students have been busy with assessments. This evidence will form the basis of a report for your child’s report.  On Tuesday 28th May, teachers will have a report writing day (student free) to complete their reports.  The reports will be posted on Compass on Monday 17th June.  This will be followed by Parent Teacher interviews on Tuesday 25th June that will commence from 2.00pm (students will finish at 1.30pm on this day).

Office closed Thursdays at 3.45pm

The Office staff will be beginning to hold their own office meetings uninterrupted.  Initially they will be starting with a weekly 15 minute catch up from 3.45pm -4.00pm on Thursdays.

Casual Clothes Day

On Friday 7th June students will be allowed to wear casual clothes to school as a fundraiser for two staff that we would like to remember with two special trees and plaques.  The two staff members we will look to recognise via the following plaques and trees are listed below.

A gold coin donation would be appreciated to go towards the trees.
