My passion is teaching and strengthening young mob's connection to culture. Hello everyone,
I’m Clare, and this is my second year at MITS. I joined the teaching team at the start of 2023 after living and working on the Tiwi Islands for a little over 2 years. I teach maths and science at Year 7 which I am extremely passionate about. I love working at MITS, working and learning alongside the students to help them follow and fulfill their educational dreams. I have been teaching for almost 10 years and love the vibrant and dynamic culture of learning at MITS. When I am not working I enjoy spending time with friends and family, reading, playing basketball and going to the footy.

This is my 6th year working at MITS, I have worked in the Lockington boarding house and the Alumni boarding houses before moving into the school team as the Transition Manager. I have been a teacher for 10 years, teaching in Alice Springs and on Tiwi Islands. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with the young people at MITS and help them succeed in their education journey here in Narrm. I enjoy watching AFL and my team is Essendon.

Previously, I have taught in various parts of Australia, with my highlight being in Wurrumiyanga, Tiwi Islands. Outside of MITS, I love surfing, snowboarding, and playing footy. I look forward to continuing to meet lots of new great people.
Hi I am Michael. I have been lucky to work at MITS since 2020 and am currently in the role of Head of Teaching and Learning. I'm passionate about working with young people and supporting them to navigate challenges and take risks with their learning. My partner, Cayla and I, have a nearly 7-month-old girl, Elidy, who is starting to take her own risks! Next term, I'm looking forward to being a stay at home Dad, while Cayla heads back to work.
Hi everyone, My name is Tara
and I am a member of the fabulous teaching team at MITS. I have been teaching for 20+ years across the NT and Victoria, and have currently been a part of the MITS team since 2022. Last year and this year I have been working with the Year 8 class, facilitating their learning mainly in English and Art. I love getting to know every student, and enjoy spending time with them. While there are many amazing moments within the school year at MITS, a highlight for me is the graduation celebration night where families, students and staff come together to celebrate the hard work and achievements of all the kids.
Hi, I’m Taylor
I work at the Year 8 campus 5 days a week, teaching Mathematics and Science. I have been a teacher for almost 11 years, split between Australia and Canada. I have been at MITS for the past 2 years and have loved every minute of it. Outside of school, I am a huge basketball fan and enjoy anything involved with sport or hanging out with my 2 year old daughter. It has been great to get to know this Year 8 group and look forward to helping them on their journey here in Naarm.
Hi, I’m Bella!
I work as one of the teachers, with both the Year 7 and 8 students. My favourite subjects to teach are English and Music, and I’ve been so lucky to work with many of the MITS mob since I started here in 2020. I’ve had lots of great adventures with MITS, met amazing young people and their families, and I’ve loved learning about the Country where I grew up, as well as the many Countries represented in our classroom through this job. On the weekends I love spending time with my husband Ollie, our son George, and our beautiful dog Franklin. In August we’ll have a new baby join the family- we can’t wait to meet our little daughter!
