Wear It Yellow for Children's Ground
Our Reconciliation Week fundraiser Wear It Yellow for Children's Ground took place on Wednesday 29 May and was a roaring success. Thank you to all students and staff who wore yellow on the day and to our community members who have generously donated to the cause. We are proud to announce that Eltham High School has so far raised $1035 to support the wellbeing of First Nations children and families. There is still time to make a contribution via this link.
The Push Up Challenge
On 5 June, The Push Up Challenge commenced and will be an ongoing event till the 28 June. This free mental health and fitness challenge focuses on pushing for better mental health for all Australians. The end goal is to complete 3,249 push ups in 23 days, this amount signifies the lives lost to suicide in Australia in 2022. Everyone can participate and is welcome to fund raise.
Here are the following steps to join:
- Search “Push For Better” in the app store and download the app
- Once the app is installed and open, sign up and join our team community Eltham High School
You will be given a choice of completing the full set of push-ups or aiming to complete half the amount, so choose what suits you the most. Break days are part of the event, so you can rest your muscles and prepare for the upcoming days.
You can contribute to the fundraiser here. Our goal is to raise $1000 for our chosen charity, Lifeline, a nation wide service providing all Australians experiencing a personal crisis with access to 24 hour crisis support and suicide prevention.
Every Wednesday at lunch time, we will be holding the event in the upper 100s space. There will be music playing and rewards to be collected for the outstanding participants in the event. This is the perfect opportunity if you’re looking for a physical challenge or wanting to encourage some competition amongst your friends. Alternatively, you can participate solo and complete your push ups at home, while still being part of the Eltham High School team via the app.
A reminder that this event is to raise awareness to the lives lost to suicide in Australia, and taking part in this event means more than just physical challenges. You are participating to show your support, while pushing for a better outcome in the future.
The Student Voice and Leadership Team looks forward to your support and participation.
