Lights, Camera, Pius! 2024

Recently at Assembly we announced the 2024 Film Festival! This festival will mark the 9th year of Lights, Camera, Pius! We look forward to hosting the event, once again, at Hoyts in Term 3, Week 7.

Students can get involved by joining our film festival committee which will meet every Wednesday of Week A at lunchtime in the ATR. Bring your lunch and meet like-minded film enthusiasts as we program, market and organise the film festival event.

We are also asking students to prepare and start planning for their film entries. Aspiring directors, actors and editors should collaborate to create a short 3-minute film, any genre (comedy, drama, action), any form (animation, multimedia, camera etc). Collaborate with your friends and you’re also more than welcome to submit any films made as classwork.

Michael Krizan, one of our Cultural Prefects and Film Festival Committee Chairman, stated 'as a participant of the film festival since Year 6, seeing my film on the Hoyts X-treme Screen last year provided me with a wonderful self-affirmation as a creative student. It is rewarding to see our films on the big screen with the support of friends. Film is a highly rewarding medium that allows us to escape and empathise with new experiences on screen, thus I call upon all film enthusiasts to think about how they can replicate the magic of film and begin filming!'

Maths Drop-In

The love of learning is in the air at St Pius X College. It was absolutely wonderful to see so many students attend Maths Drop this week. Many students either work on their own or with a mate to do that extra study. Maths Drop-in is an excellent opportunity to get ahead and revise for up-coming assessments.

All Year 7 - 12 students are welcome to come along, to get assistance with Mathematics homework, assignments or study for assessments. Come along, we are here to help.

Where: C1

When: Tuesdays and Thursdays

Time: 7:40 am - 8:30 am

I'm very much looking forward to seeing many students unlock their mathematical potential.
