Lovin' Sports
CSSA State Volleyball
On Wednesday 15 May two teams travelled to Sydney for the State Volleyball competition and competed on Thursday. The teams knew what to expect after last year and came prepared, both mentally and physically.
The College's mixedteam had been practising regularly at home, school, competitions, and everywhere. On Thursday their hard work paid off! The players were outstanding with their effective teamwork and communication as well as being great at both offence and defence, often putting their bodies on the line to get the point. They also had exceptional double blocks. The team won every game and went into the semi-finals against Oran Park, winning the first set and losing the second set creating high tension. The team put up a good fight in the third set but eventually went down to the team that won overall.
The girls team also played exceptionally well. They had a tough pool yet won every game until they versed Mountain View. Unfortunately, there was an injury, but the girls persevered with great communication, teamwork, anticipation and skill! Mountain View went on to win the whole competition.
Mr Cunningham and Mrs Johnson are very proud of all students for their sportsmanship, their efforts and for representing the College so well!!
A massive thanks to Mr Cunningham for all his hard work and for training the students.
