Catholic Schools Week

Pray with Hope

As we celebrate Catholic Schools Week this week, Holy Trinity reflects on the theme: "Pray with Hope." This week is a time for us to reflect on the unique contributions that Catholic education makes to the lives of our students, families, staff and the wider community.

The theme, "Pray with Hope," encourages us to embrace the power of prayer in our daily lives. In a world filled with challenges and uncertainties, hope with faith becomes a beacon of light guiding us through. This week our school will participate in various activities.

Monday: To celebrate the beginning of Catholic Schools Week, classrooms will engage in prayer and reflections with students receiving a prayer card.

As we celebrate Catholic Schools Week, let us remember that through prayer, our hopes are strengthened.

May this week of prayer and hope inspire us all to continue growing in our spiritual journey and supporting one another with the grace of God’s love.

Trinity Mass

Tomorrow, Wedneday 29 May at 9:15am, our school community will celebrate the patronal feast of the school, the Holy Trinity. The mystery of the Trinity can be difficult to grasp – the idea of God being three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. St Patrick explained the Trinity using a three-leaf clover and in more recent times, Pope Francis used a fidget spinner to describe the Blessed Trinity.

We can also explain the mystery of the Trinity thinking of a candle flame. The “fire” of a candle is the flame itself, the heat it creates, and the light it sheds. There is no flame without heat and light, and no heat without flame and light. As the flame, heat, and light are one fire, so the three persons of the Trinity are one God.

Let us pray for the grace to embody the unity and love of the Trinity in our daily lives, and let us commit ourselves to the mission of our school - to form young minds and hearts in the image of Christ, who reveals to us the love of the Father and the power of the Holy Spirit and to 'live life to the full.'
