What's On

What is National Reconciliation Week?
The dates for National Reconciliation Week remain the same each year, 27 May to 3 June. These dates commemorate two significant milestones in the reconciliation journey: the successful 1967 referendum, and the High Court Mabo decision decision.
Reconciliation must live in the hearts, minds, and actions of all Australians as we move forward, creating a nation strengthened by respectful relationships between the wider Australian community, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
We all have a role to play when it comes to reconciliation, and in playing our part we collectively build relationships and communities that value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, cultures, and futures. As individuals and a school community, is it timely to reflect on our contributions to reconciliation.
On Monday 27 May, the College acknowledged National Reconciliation Week by inviting the parents of our Deadly Group students in for refreshments.

Paul Litherland - Internet Awareness Parent Information Session
We are excited to announce Paul Litherland will be returning to All Saints' College to conduct an Internet Awareness presentation to parents and carers.
Date: Wednesday 5 June
Time: 6.30pm–8.00pm
This presentation is for adults only, and covers a wide range of information to help understand the internet playgrounds that our children use, and how to stay one step ahead in the online world. Paul’s parent presentations are highly informative and funny, and everyone who has seen him speak has been amazed by the information he provides. We are honoured that Paul has been presenting at the College for 14 years, and remains a crucial contributor to the education of our students and community.
Paul was a WA Police Officer for 20 years, spending his last 6 years within Technology Crime. He was involved in numerous investigations where both adults and children were caught up in the risks presented by the online world. Paul began educating children about these risks in his local area, and eventually decided to leave the police to start Surf Online Safe. Paul now presents to over 850 schools and organisations across Australia, and is recognised as the nation’s leading educator in the field of Internet Awareness. He has been pivotal in driving legislative support for the victims of online crime, and was the driving force behind the introduction of Intimate Image Abuse laws in 2019. Paul's dedication and commitment to education and awareness culminated in him being named the 2022 WA Australian of the Year.

MORE INFORMATION ON THE YEAR 10 FUTURES DAY

Known for its delicious fresh pretzels and bright pink store designs, Pretzel has flourished over its seven-year journey both here and in Victoria, with 11 stores and no sign of stopping! Brittany’s story is one of perseverance, hard work, and plenty of fun.
The second session will include a presentation from the College’s Assistant Director of Senior School (Teaching and Learning), Mr Jim Shackleton. The presentation will cover important aspects of the Year 11 subject selection and counselling process that will take place in Week 10 of Term 2. In the third session, our VET and Pathways Coordinator, Mr Paul King, will cover General and VET options for Years 11 and 12.
Following this, there will be a series of concurrent breakout sessions where students will take part in various industry panel discussions, led mainly by members of our Old Saints and P&F Association. For our fifth session, the Year 10s will meet representatives from the five WA universities and hear about what sets them apart from each other.

All Saints' to represent Aus at 2024 International RoboCup!
We are excited to announce that Team Buff Bunny will represent Australia at the prestigious 2024 International RoboCup Competition in Eindhoven, Netherlands. This is a superb opportunity for our students to explore the world of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and robotics, advancing the future of STEM education.
Our journey began with victories at the Western Australian State RoboCup Junior competition and the Australian National RoboCup Junior competition in Melbourne. Now we have the chance to showcase our skills on an international stage at Eindhoven University of Technology.
However, we need your support to make this dream a reality. Traveling to the Netherlands requires resources beyond our reach. We are seeking donations to cover travel and accommodation expenses, which will enable our students to participate in this life-changing event.
Your contribution will help our students gain invaluable experiences and inspire future generations in the field of robotics. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference.
Join us in empowering our students and fostering innovation in STEM.
Thank you for your support!
With gratitude,
Team Buff Bunny
