The Art Room
Term 4
Term 4 is the season for creative invention! With piles of cardboard, bottles, corks, cans, and other recycled treasures, our artists are busy turning “junk” into joyful masterpieces; building, designing and dreaming beyond the ordinary.
Our Grade 1s and 2s have been inspired by the legendary Mr Squiggle! Many of you might remember the cheerful man from the moon who could turn any squiggle into a masterpiece. I was lucky enough to see him at the National Museum Canberra, these holidays. Channelling his creative spirit, our young artists transformed mysterious marks from their classmates into imaginative works of art: full of surprises and clever ideas!

Magazine Letter Name Collages were fun to create! Looking for letters for our names was sometimes like looking for a needle in a haystack! But with all eyes looking for letters for each other, it made the task just a little easier and more fun!

Collage is such an expressive medium. When there is an array of images to choose from, sometimes paring our ideas down to the basics can be more effective. Take a look at our Monochromatic Collages made this week….
