Prep Excursion to Funky Farm!

Prep’s First Adventure: Tuning into Inquiry

 at The Funky Farm!

Our Prep students had an absolutely fantastic time on their first-ever excursion on Wednesday,15th October, as we kick-started our inquiry into Australian Animals: How they survive and thrive in their habitats! The level of excitement and curiosity was palpable from the moment we left St Patricks.

The highlight was definitely the hands-on experience at The Funky Farm. Our young inquirers got up close and personal, touching, feeding, and even holding various native creatures—from patting baby crocodiles to holding blue-tongued lizards and feeding kangaroos! This real-world encounter gave students a deep understanding of the animals' unique features and how they act as their "superpowers" in their natural habitat.

The fun continued with a drive to Fred Smith Reserve, where we enjoyed a lovely picnic lunch and some quality playtime together, strengthening both our physical and social skills. The weather was perfect, and the students were exemplary!

A huge thank you to our wonderful parent helpers, LSOs, and teachers for making the Prep's first excursion so memorable, engaging, and a brilliant launchpad for their learning.

What a fantastic start to our inquiry!
