Term 4 Scripture

Our Term 4 Scripture focus is Psalm 24:1: “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.” This Scripture invites us to reflect on interconnection, creation, and our place in the world, considering what God calls us to do as caretakers of His creation.

During last week’s staff meeting, teachers engaged in faith formation by unpacking the Psalm together, making meaningful connections to their own lives, their teaching, and the world around them. As we often say, “we can’t give what we don’t have.” Nurturing the faith of our staff is where we begin when introducing new Scripture.

Working collaboratively, staff explored the theological understandings of the Psalms, particularly Psalm 24, to deepen their insight and prepare to teach it meaningfully to students. This shared reflection adds depth to their teaching and strengthens the spiritual perspective they bring to their classrooms.

Our Year 3 students are currently preparing for their First Reconciliation, deepening their understanding of forgiveness and God’s love. This week, they took part in their Faith Formation Evening, and in two weeks’ time, they will join students from St Margaret Mary’s to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation at Sacred Heart Church.

Our Year 3 students are looking forward to their first camp experience in Week 5 at Candlebark Farm in Healesville. This one-night camp will be a wonderful opportunity for them to build independence, strengthen friendships, and enjoy hands-on learning in a natural environment.

PAT Testing

Over the next few weeks, students will be completing PAT testing in Maths and Reading. PAT, conducted by ACER, is a diagnostic assessment that provides valuable data to help us see our student growth over the year and guide targeted teaching and learning for the remainder of the term.

The 2026 Strategic Planning Day will be an important opportunity for staff to come together and plan for the year ahead. We will focus on refining our vision and mission, which we have already begun, as well as reviewing our behaviour curriculum and learning programs to ensure a cohesive and purposeful year ahead for all students.

Over the next two weeks, our Year 5 and 6 students will take part in the Bodyworks program, facilitated by Amanda Parsons, who has successfully led this program at our school for the past three years.

The program, which is aligned with the Victorian Curriculum, helps students develop an understanding of puberty, health, and wellbeing.  A parent online information session will be held on Thursday 23rd October at 7pm, to outline the program content.  The students will participate in three student sessions and one girls only session.
