Message from the
School Principal
Dear Sacred Heart Families,

As I return to school after being on long service leave, I am delighting in being back with the children and seeing how much they have grown both physically and academically, even in the short time that I was away. I truly missed seeing them each day and hearing their chatter and celebrating each achievement with them, big or small. It has also been lovely to be welcomed back by families with a quick message or hello. I am always grateful for the wonderful community of Sacred Heart and I am especially reminded of this after some time away on holiday.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Sacred Heart team of educators & administrative staff for ensuring a smooth but busy Term 3, with much to celebrate and be a part of.
I would especially like to thank Cath Palmer who was Acting Principal in my absence. Cath did a wonderful job (as I knew she would) and my transition back to work at the start of Term 4 was seamless, largely due to the work Cath did to lead and govern Sacred Heart during this time. I would also like to thank Erin Stone and the leadership team for supporting Cath in the role. 'It takes a village' and this holds very true for our Sacred Heart team. Thankyou, everyone!
On Wednesday, Sacred Heart celebrated our first Art Show for many years. The Art Show provided a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together and recognise the visual representations our children have created over the past term. Rita, our Art Educator at Sacred Heart, and classroom teachers have provided many opportunities and experiences for the children to express their thoughts, ideas and understandings through the visual arts.

The children were so very proud to see their work on display and share their artwork with their families and it was heartwarming and inspiring to hear the rich conversations, questions and affirmations of the pieces of art work.
A special thank you to Caitlin McEwan, our Family Engagement Leader who worked tirelessly to create and coordinate a unique event for us all to enjoy. Caitlin and Rita ensured all children had a piece of art work in the show and could share it with their families.
Thank you also to the families who came along in support of the event, purchased their child's art work or participated in the silent auction. Your support of our school events is always very much appreciated.

Parish and school partnerships are important in strengthening the faith community by uniting families, educators and parishioners in a shared mission of Catholic education and spiritual growth. These partnerships nurture a sense of belonging and ensure that faith is lived and celebrated both within the school and the wider parish community.
Our Annual Parish Forum for 2025 will be held on Sunday, 23rd November following 10 am Mass at Sacred Heart. The forum is an opportunity to learn more about what has been happening this year in strengthening the relationship between Sacred Heart school and the parish of St Joseph's.
As in previous years, we will hold the forum straight after Mass in the church before heading to the school hall for a shared lunch. All families are invited to join us.
As students spend more time online, ensuring their digital safety and well-being has never been more important. At Sacred Heart Primary School, we are committed to providing a secure online learning environment and equipping families with the tools to confidently navigate the digital world.
That’s why we are excited to announce our partnership with Linewize - a collaboration that enhances our ability to keep students safe online while empowering you, as parents, with valuable insights and resources to support your child’s digital journey.
In the coming weeks, we’ll invite you to partner with us in this initiative.
As part of this program, you will gain access to the Qustodio parent app.
We encourage ALL our parents to sign up for a free Qustodio account to ensure that at least one personal device per child is protected.
We’re thrilled to bring this initiative to our school community and look forward to your involvement in fostering a culture of online safety. Look out for our next email with step-by-step instructions on setting up your Qustodio Parent Account.
