Welcome back to Term 4!!
This is the last term for the Year 12’s. You are nearly there now 😊
One of the challenges towards the end of Year 12 and even at the end of any course of study is when we hit the “I’m just over it” blues. We all get to the point where we are just utterly done with study.
Here’s some tips from Western Sydney University that could be helpful.
1. What is one thing that you can do now on an assignment or homework? You’ll find that just doing that one thing can help you break through a block.
2. Be kind to your mind – study slumps are normal. You aren’t being lazy or anything like that – think kindly about yourself.
3. When you have a lot to do study wise – do a little chunk at a time. After all, we eat a meal one bite at a time.
4. Take it easy with the caffeine. I know we all enjoy our cup of coffee or Coca Cola/ Pepsi – but did you know that too much caffeine can have the opposite effect and we can get really sleepy. Water is actually what our body needs and can help your brain to become more alert.
5. Sleep – I know, you’ve heard it from everyone. Sleep is important – but our brains are like computers – they do need to shut down to recharge and do some deep level processing. We also understand that sometimes our minds are just busy thinkers. If that’s the case, try some apps to help your mind slow down. Calm, Headspace and Tide are examples of some apps that could help. If you’ve got any good suggestions for Apps that could help, we’d love to hear from you.
Please feel free to reach out to the Wellbeing Team if you’d like any help.
