Indonesian Cooking
Year 8 cooking
At the end of last term, Year 8 Indonesian students stepped into the kitchen to explore the rich flavours of Indonesia by preparing a traditional dish of their choice. Students embraced the opportunity to connect language learning with a hands-on cultural experience. This activity not only deepened their appreciation for Indonesian cuisine but also fostered collaboration, creativity, and intercultural understanding.
Sporty Sewing
TT11 – Sporty Sewing
In term 3, students made prototype shorts to establish a good fit with a commercial pattern. They will now go on to make track pants, or if they feel they have the skills, will make a hoodie. Students need to purchase their own fabric for these future projects.
Interior Design
Throughout term 3 students studied how interior designers use colour and fabric to create a ‘mood’ or ‘feel’ in indoor spaces.
Then they applied this knowledge and used patchwork and appliqué techniques to create a cushion to suit a particular décor. If students had spare time they were able to create something of their own choice – Harry S made a computer bag.
