Principal Message

Be Kind, Be safe, Be respectful, Be responsible, Be resilient, Be ready
Dear Families,
As we approach Catholic Education Week in the Diocese of Sale, beginning this Friday, we are invited to reflect on this year’s beautiful theme: “Every school a home of peace.” This theme speaks so deeply to the heart of who we are at Our Lady Star of the Sea, Cowes. Each day, we strive to make our school a place of belonging, compassion, inclusion, and welcome for every child and family in our community.
With Mary as our patron saint, it is only natural that we look to her gentle guidance as she continually orients us toward Jesus , the ultimate example of peace in our world. Through our words, actions, and relationships, we are called to be people who bring peace to others and create communities where all feel safe, valued, and loved.
To mark the conclusion of Catholic Education Week, our school will hold a special celebration for the Feast Day of Our Lady Star of the Sea on Friday, 22 May. This promises to be a wonderful day filled with meaningful learning experiences, opportunities for prayer and reflection, and many enjoyable activities that will bring us together as a school community. It will be a special chance to celebrate the spirit of our beautiful school and the strong connections we share with one another.
I would also like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank our wonderful Parents and Friends Group for organising the Mother’s Day Stall last Friday, as well as the many mums who generously gave their time to help run the stall on the day. We are incredibly grateful for your support and generosity.
Finally, thank you to everyone who attended our Mother’s Day Breakfast. It was a beautiful morning shared with the children, made all the more special by your presence. The joy, warmth, and sense of community experienced throughout the morning were a wonderful reminder of the importance of family and connection within our school community.
Warm regards,
Pamela McKillop
