Principal's Report

2nd July 2026

Dear Parents and Carers

We have reached the final week of Term 2, which has been a fantastic term filled with growth in both learning and wellbeing. Today, the entire school is celebrating our achievement of filling the box with our PBL gotchas! This has been exciting as all students have the opportunity to participate in this celebration and we will start with an empty box at the start of Term 3.

We extend a heartfelt thank you to our dedicated teachers for their unwavering commitment and care throughout the term, and to our families for your continued support and assistance. Additionally, we would like to thank both our staff and parents for the time invested in this week's parent-teacher interviews, as we continue to partner together in supporting the education and development of our students as we move through the second semester of our school year.

Mrs Huard's Big 3 Trek

Congratulations to Mrs Huard, her brother Jason and the team who walked the 150km Big 3 Trek from Sydney to Newcastle raising money for the Mark Hughes Brain Cancer Research Foundation last weekend.

Technology made it possible for staff and students to be able to talk to Mrs Huard whilst she was walking and we are very proud of her efforts.

Fundraising for Charities

Our school community is very generous with any form of fundraising whether it be for school or for a charity.

All Catholic Schools are committed to contributing to 3 Catholic charities each year. These are St Vincent De Paul; Catholic Missions and Caritas - Project Compassion.

Tomorrow we are having a Pyjama Mufti Day with the gold coin proceeds going to the St Vincent De Paul Winter Appeal. A huge thank you to all the families who have so kindly donated warm clothing, blankets etc to the appeal as well.

Aside from the Catholic Charities, we support Jeans for Genes Day which will be held on 6th August next term. The money raised from this not only supports research for children with Cystic Fibrosis, but also helps raise awareness and provide critical funding for vital and progressive research for all genetic diseases. Students can wear jeans on this day in support of the fundraiser, with their sports shirt (and jacket if needed), joggers and pay a gold coin donation.

Referral Process for Allied Health

Some students are able to receive allied health sessions at school from external providers such as Occupational Therapists and Speech Pathologists. There is a specific process to allow external providers into the school which ensures child protection and school permission.

  1. Parental Request: Parents or carers must submit a written request to the school Principal. This can be emailed to Mrs Scott: scotta3@ww.catholic.edu.au
  2. Initial Discussion: Meet with the Principal and relevant staff to discuss the student's needs and proposed service delivery.
  3. School Assessment: The Principal evaluates the school's capacity (space, privacy, and impact on operations) and whether the service is in the student's best interest.
  4. Formal Agreement:
    • The Principal prepares an Engagement Agreement
    • The provider completes the agreement and submits a service schedule detailing the delivery for each student.
  5. Final Approval: The Principal reviews all documentation and either approves or declines the request.
  6. Provider Induction: Approved provider staff must complete a school-based induction covering safety, child protection, and codes of conduct before starting work.

The engagement agreement in Step 4 will need to be signed by the various stakeholders.

If there is any part of this procedure parents are unsure of, please contact the school.
