Junior School Report
Jocelyn Gepp
As we move towards the end of another busy and successful term, it is a great opportunity to reflect on the many experiences and opportunities our Junior School students have embraced over the past few weeks. Across academics, wellbeing, leadership, and sport, our students have continued to represent our school with pride and enthusiasm.
Sport has continued to be a standout feature of the term, with students enthusiastically taking part in a variety of interschool competitions. Events such as the Greater Western Region Cross Country showcased students’ determination, resilience, and commitment. Our students also represented the College with pride in a number of Eureka Division competitions, including Netball and Soccer events. These experiences provide valuable opportunities for students to challenge themselves, strengthen teamwork and communication skills, and build positive connections with their peers while representing the school in an exemplary way.
Within the wellbeing space, our students have continued to engage in important learning experiences that support their growth and development. Our Year 9 students participated in the Mythbusting Homelessness Program facilitated by Uniting Care, providing valuable insight into the realities of homelessness and encouraging empathy, understanding, and community awareness. Our Year 7 students also participated in the Westmead Feelings Program, developing their emotional literacy and learning strategies to support positive wellbeing and healthy relationships.
Academically, students have been preparing for and completing their Year 7–9 Semester Exams. We have been extremely pleased with the maturity and effort shown by students throughout the examination period. These experiences provide valuable opportunities for students to develop organisation, study habits, and resilience while demonstrating their learning and growth.
As we approach the end of term, we are looking forward to our End of Term Assemblies, where we will celebrate the many achievements of our students. These assemblies provide an opportunity to recognise students who have demonstrated excellence in learning, positive behaviour, leadership, attendance, and contribution to the school community.
The Junior School continues to be a place where students are encouraged to challenge themselves, support one another, and take advantage of the many opportunities available to them. We are proud of the way our students have represented themselves and the school throughout the term and look forward to celebrating their achievements as we conclude another successful semester.
