Visual Art News

Throughout Term 2, students in Year 1, Year 3, Year 5, and Year 6 embraced a wide range of creative opportunities in Visual Arts. Each year level explored different artistic techniques, materials, and processes, developing their skills while expressing their unique ideas. The Artist of the Semester was chosen from each year level to celebrate students who consistently demonstrated outstanding creativity, effort, and artistic growth. These students showed enthusiasm, imagination, and a strong commitment to their learning in Visual Arts. Their achievements were proudly recognised and celebrated as part of our school community.
Refugee Week in the Art Room:
During Refugee Week, students came together in the Art Room to celebrate the many cultures that make our school and Australia such a special place. Students coloured a large map of Australia filled with symbols, patterns, and images representing different cultures and the unique stories people bring with them. Through discussion and art-making, students learned that Refugee Week is a time to show kindness, respect, and understanding towards people who have come to Australia seeking safety and a new beginning. It was wonderful to see students sharing ideas, celebrating diversity, and recognising that our differences make our community stronger and more connected.
World Cup News in Year 4: 4ST, 4ND, 4JT & 4AP
In Year 4, students embraced the excitement of the World Cup by designing their own soccer balls inspired by the tournament. They explored colour, pattern, shape, and design while creating unique and imaginative ball designs that reflected their creativity and understanding of sporting themes. Students also proudly showed their support for the Socceroos by incorporating Australian colours, symbols, and team-inspired elements into their artwork. The finished designs showcased a wonderful combination of artistic skill, creativity, and national pride.
Happy Holidays, Happy Creating,
