The Support Unit

It has been a busy and rewarding term for the Support Unit. The following are some of the key activities and achievements:
Community Access Program
· Years 7 and 8 focused on developing practical skills such as cooking, purchasing, and travel training.
· Year 9 students extended their experiences beyond the local community, practicing travel training and visiting a variety of locations. Excursions included: • The Australian Botanic Gardens • The NSW Rail Museum • A tour of Headspace • Lunch at Circular Quay
WINK Work Skills Program – Years 10 to 12
· Students participated in the WINK program, a work skills initiative facilitated by Northcott in Campbelltown.
· The program concluded in Week 9 with mock interviews where students had the opportunity to practice their skills.
· We extend our sincere thanks to The Formal Project Bloom for generously providing all students with business attire for their interviews. Our students looked exceptional.
Work Experience
· Congratulations to all students who took part in the Work Experience Program at Hoxton Park Industries.
· We look forward to continuing to build a strong community partnership with Hoxton Park Industries in the future.
Cultural and Artistic Opportunities
· A select group of students attended The Lion King Musical through a joint GEMSEN initiative between Mount Annan High School Support Unit and Oran Park High School Support Unit. This provided valuable opportunities to build social connections, practice travel training, and appreciate the creative arts.
· Please look out for our upcoming Fishers Ghost Art Exhibit, which will feature stunning works created by our students. Some of these works will be transformed into a mural within the Support Unit.
· Our gratitude goes to Mrs Hale and Mrs Harris for their dedication and hard work on this artistic project.
Thank you to all staff, families, and community partners for their continued support. We are proud of our students’ efforts and achievements this term and look forward to more exciting opportunities ahead.
