The Hub – More Than Just Homework!

Formerly known as Homework Club, The Hub has expanded to offer students much more than a place to complete schoolwork. Running every Thursday afternoon from 3:00–4:00 pm, it provides a relaxed and welcoming space where students can receive help with homework and assignments, read, try origami, catch up with friends or simply unwind after the school day.

The Hub also runs alongside our very popular Dungeons & Dragons sessions, giving students a variety of activities to choose from. Those attending the Hub have enjoyed its calm and friendly atmosphere, as well as the opportunity to receive more individual support when needed.

Whether you need help finishing an assignment, would like to learn some origami, want a quiet place to read or simply feel like spending time with friends, come along and see what The Hub has to offer!

The Hub will return next term—Thursdays from 3:00–4:00 pm.

New students are always welcome!

Coffee Club – Brewing Skills and Confidence

Our Coffee Club students have enjoyed another rewarding term of developing their barista skills. Although our term 3 group became smaller as the term progressed, the students who continued showed pleasing improvement in preparing a range of hot beverages, operating the coffee machine safely and confidently, and developing their teamwork and customer-service skills.

It has been wonderful to see their confidence grow as they practised taking orders, preparing drinks and maintaining a clean and organised café space. Our students should be proud of the progress they have made so far!

This term, we decided to extend the students’ training into next term before holding our usual Coffee & Chat event. This will give them even more time to refine their skills and feel confident serving parents and carers.

We look forward to continuing Coffee Club next term and seeing our budding baristas put their growing skills into action!

Pokémon Club

Pokémon Club has been as popular as ever this year, and Term 3 has seen a lot of new faces come in to join the fun. The students have been enjoying interactive games such as guessing the fake shiny Pokémon amongst a group of photos, which is fine tuning their skills on Pokémon they may not have known existed. There has also been plenty of Pokémon trivia and Bingo! Mr Welbourn has provided participants of the club with plenty of cards the students can keep and take home to add to their collection. Card accessories such as sleeves, top loaders, deck boxes, and even binders to help keep and store their cards in great condition! The environment that Pokémon Club emanates is one of inclusivity, comradery, and the freedom to share a passion with fellow students, including Mr Welbourn. Every Friday at Recess (first break) is when the club get together. I hope to see you back next Term for another 10 weeks of fun!
