Careers Coordinator Update

This term has gone by incredibly quickly, with a busy period of exams, pathway planning and future-focused opportunities for our students. With Year 12 Trial HSC Examinations and Year 11 Preliminary Examinations taking place, the Careers team has also been supporting students with their post-school planning and next steps.

🚀 ABCN Future Thinkers

Ten of our students recently had the opportunity to attend the ABCN Future Thinkers program at Korn Ferry in Sydney CBD, where they worked alongside wonderful industry mentors to tackle a range of real-world challenges.

Our students showed great creativity throughout the problem-solving process, developing innovative solutions to the challenges presented to them. With the support and encouragement of their mentors, students thrived in the professional environment and gained valuable insight into the world of work.

The impact of the program was reflected in the students' feedback, with significant growth across key areas:

· Understanding Design Thinking: increased from 35% to 96%

· Confidence in developing creative solutions: increased from 61% to 100%

· Communicating ideas: increased from 78% to 96%

· Connecting and developing relationships: increased from 65% to 83%

· Seeing themselves in a professional workplace: increased from 43% to 70%

It was a fantastic day of creativity, collaboration and career exploration, and we are incredibly proud of how our students embraced the experience.

🌟 Girls in Property Presentation & Awards Night

On Wednesday, 12 August, five talented students represented Mount Annan High School at the Girls in Property Presentation & Awards Night at Urbis Sydney.

Our students had the exciting opportunity to present their project, Redefining Retail, to an industry judging panel and compete against 11 other schools from across the region.

Reaching the finals was a fantastic achievement, and our girls represented Mount Annan High School with confidence, professionalism and enthusiasm. They did an amazing job presenting their ideas to an industry audience and demonstrated excellent teamwork, creativity and commitment throughout the program.

While we didn’t take home the winning award this time, the experience provided our students with valuable insight into the property and development industry and an opportunity to connect with industry professionals.

🌟 Girls, you should be so proud of yourselves — you all did so well! 🌟

A huge congratulations to all five students on reaching the finals and representing Mount Annan High School so proudly. We are incredibly proud of you! 💙
