Visual Arts

For the first week of term the 5/6 students completed a single session artwork to experiment with symmetry.

Using a folded piece of A3 paper, students firstly wrote their name along the fold before drawing one continuous line around the letters.

Students then cut along this line and opened the piece of paper to reveal…. all sorts of things!

Can you work out whose name is in the artwork?

Students in 3/4 completed either an abstract or rollercoaster name art activity last week. In both instances students have used their name as the basis for their artworks.

The next step will be to add a splash of colour.

Students in 1/2 started off the term with a name based artwork as well.

Instead of writing their name in a straight line they used a spiral template, turning the artwork as they wrote.

Similar to the 3/4 students, the next step will be to add some colour.

Foundation students were introduced to the Art room last week.

Students were provided with a sheet of A3 paper with their name on it and an invitation to use whichever materials they wanted from on their tables.

Students drew patterns, marks and recognisable objects for this open ended task.

We then rolled our creations into a cylinder and added a handle.
