Leadership Centre

Highlight

Selamat siang,

Another big week yet again! Firstly, congratulations to the year 6 leaders of their first assembly. You demonstrated great bravery and leadership!

In Wellbeing this week students have been exploring challenges they have faced and how they have persevered and overcome them. They have created their own Learning Pits diagram of how they might use strategies when they fall into the pit to climb back and face challenges head-on.

Furthermore, this week in class we have started exploring our guided inquiry unit for term one focusing on identity. Students did a brainstorm about what identity means to them and what encompasses the term ‘identity’. Students explored how food can link to identity. We discussed and shared stories about the food we love and why food is important to our own identity.

Within Literacy, students have explored the book ‘Our Place’ delving into the different features and structure of the book and how identity is captured and used in the book. Students explored the author's purpose of the book and annotated different literary features they found in the story.

We encourage you to have a conversation with your child about what identity means to you!

Have a wonderful week,

The Leadership Centre Teachers
