Welcome

Hello, and welcome to another exciting school year at Golden Grove Lutheran Primary School. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. 

My name is Sarah Kumela and I am Henry's mum (3/4S). I have been a part of the GGLPS family for 10 years and love the welcoming sense of community within the school. 

This year, I have the honour of chairing the wonderful Parents and Friends Association and I am excited to share with you what we have planned this year. 

This year the Exec members (Stephen Tiller, Claire Rathjen and Michelle Parcell, and myself) and the other committee members have brainstormed some fantastic event and community building opportunities. Date nights and Middle of Term Breakfasts are featuring again, together with the annual Sports Day BBQ. We will be hosting a junior primary disco and a fun filled Trivia night. Our first event of the year will be held at the Parent Information night with Drinks and Nibbles before, during and after your classroom sessions.

The P & F meets twice a term to plan and evaluate each of these types of events, as well as to provide an opportunity for parents and friends to bring ideas forward on ways to build the community and raise and questions or queries they may have about elements of the school. It also provides the opportunity to find out what is going on at school and what the plans are for the future. It’s also a great way to simply meet new people and foster relationships within the school community. 

 We are always open for new members to bring new ideas and inject fresh support our amazing school community. If you feel you wish to contribute please either come along to our first meeting on Monday 12th February at 7.30pm, or have a chat with one of our fabulous committee members, or even catch me in the courtyard before or after school. Looking forward to an awesome year!
