Wellbeing & RE News

Dear Families,

Please find attached an invitation to our Welcome Mass and Gathering for the start of the year - it will be on Wednesday 28th of February at 6pm. We'd love to see all our families at the Mass and then catch up with everyone in the school community for a cuppa and icy-pole afterwards in the school yard!

Here is the assembly roster for  for Term One.

Assemblies are held in the Multipurpose Room and begin at 2.40 until 3.20pm.

                Week 4:Thursday 22nd February      Year 4/5 & 5/6

                Week 6: Thursday 7th March              Year 2/3 & 3/4

                Week 8: Thursday 21st March             Foundation & Year 1

Two classes are rostered to lead the assembly, however this year each class will present an item. It is a time to come together as a school community and a chance to hand out awards, celebrate learning and find out the happenings at Sacred Heart. Everyone is welcome.

All classes attended Ash Wednesday Mass yesterday, which marks the beginning of the Catholic faith's season of Lent. Father Aloysius spoke to the Parish and children about three things that we can do during Lent to strengthen our relationship with God through Prayer, Fasting and Almsgiving.

Be with me this Lent, Jesus, and deepen my spirit.

Let my every sacrifice be underscored with gratitude and humility. By giving something up, may I discover anew all I have taken for granted.

In each small effort, may I recognize my need for your strength and grace. As I empty myself through fasting, make me mindful of those for whom scarcity is an everyday reality.

As I abstain from negativity, self-righteousness, and arrogance, replenish me with kindness, understanding, and good humour.  Be with me this Lent, Jesus, and turn my spirit towards you. Amen.

If you have a wellbeing concern regarding your child,  or your child needs wellbeing support, please don't hesitate to call, catch me for a chat or send an email. Working in partnership and as a team to support the students of Sacred Heart is so important and why part of our vision statement is, 'Students are at the heart of everything we do'.

Take Care and enjoy the weekend,
