Career Expo at John Fawkner College: Opening Doors to Future Opportunities

On Monday, 30th June 2025, John Fawkner College hosted an engaging Career Expo designed to inspire and inform students about their post-secondary options and career pathways. The event brought together representatives from leading universities and TAFE institutions, alongside apprenticeship providers, creating a dynamic environment for students to explore a variety of opportunities.

Students had the chance to engage with interactive work experience headsets, offering immersive insights into different career fields, as well as participate in computer-based interactive games aimed at developing critical skills. These hands-on activities complemented informative discussions, empowering students to make well-informed decisions about their futures.

The Career Expo at John Fawkner College reflects the school’s commitment to equipping students with the knowledge and resources they need to navigate the transition from school to the workforce successfully. By fostering connections with higher education and vocational training providers, the event plays a vital role in shaping confident, career ready young adults.

Early Learning Certificate III

A group of our Year 10 students, together with students from the three other Merri-bek North Education Plan schools, visited the children at Early Learning Victoria Wimbi centre and heard from Melbourne Polytechnic about their opportunity to start their Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care in 2026. We are not sure who had more fun – the little learners at Wimbi or our students.

If any student in Year 10 or 11 is interested in this VET, please come and see Ms Miller.
