Dear Parents and Carers,
School Advisory Council Update
At our recent School Advisory Council meeting last Wednesday, members participated in a ‘Who’s Who in the Zoo’ activity. This activity aims to build clarity and shared awareness of the working relationships and interdependence of roles within the School Advisory Council. By identifying and mapping the responsibilities of parents, staff, community members, the parish priest, and DOBCEL, we aim to strengthen our collective understanding of how each role contributes to the school’s mission, vision, and strategic goals. This process will help ensure more informed, collaborative, and effective decision-making that reflects the needs and values of our school community.
We also reviewed and updated the SWPBS Behaviour Matrix, adding a few more expectations to support positive behaviours across the school. This matrix is important in guiding respectful, responsible, and safe behaviour at Sacred Heart, and it was great to get parent input. A copy of this matrix is viewable on the next page of this newsletter.
Years 1–4 Excursion to COPACC – Imagine Live
On Thursday, June 5th, students in Years 1 to 4 travelled by bus to COPACC to enjoy a special live performance of Imagine in celebration of World Environment Day.
Imagine Live, based on Alison Lester's beloved book and brought to life by Jolyon James, was a magical and meaningful performance celebrating creativity, friendship, and the natural world.
With help from the audience, the cast brought each page to life diving with dolphins, spotting leopards, and even digging up dinosaurs.
It was a vibrant, immersive experience that sparked imagination and deepened students’ appreciation for our environment.
Speaking to Matilda Hocking (3ME), here's how the show made her think about the environment;
"It made me imagine what our world could be like if we all looked after it better."
Kind regards,
