BMC 2025 – Poetry Recital Finals (Year 3–6)
Sunday 15th June – Online via Zoom
- Finalists will recite the same poem from Round 1, off by heart, before a jury of two assessors.
- All assessments will be conducted live online via Zoom, at the scheduled times listed below.
- Please share the relevant Zoom link below with your students and their parents/guardians to connect remotely/from home.
- Remind students to speak up clearly and position the camera in a room free from distractions.
- Students click on the link 5 minutes before their scheduled time. When entering the Zoom room, students will see a message asking them to wait — the assessors (host) will admit them when ready.
- At the beginning of their session, each student should hold up an A4 sheet with their FULL NAME clearly written so assessors can identify them.
- If a student is admitted a little early/late and isn’t quite ready, reassure them — they should take their time and not feel rushed.
- Sometimes technical issues occur. If this happens, it may create delays in the times allocated. Please be patient for your assessment.
- If an issue arises that cannot be resolved during the session, please email: competition@afmelbourne.com.au. We’ll be on standby.
- Once the recital is complete, students simply must click “Leave” to exit the Zoom room.
- Please ensure the Zoom Display Name matches the name used for enrolment. This helps us admit students in the correct order.
How to Update Zoom Display Name
- Click Participants in the toolbar.
- Hover over your name and click More > Rename (desktop) or tap your name (mobile).
- Enter the student’s full name (as used in the competition).
- Click Rename or Done.
