What's happening in the 3/4 classes?

Historical Letter Writing:

 

Grade 3 and 4 students have been learning about the early days of British settlement in Sydney this term. Students took on the perspective of child convicts and wrote to their families back in London to explain their harsh living conditions. Students then ‘received’ letters back from family members in London who expressed their longing to be reunited with them. Students enjoyed this creative writing process, taking on multiple perspectives during this period of history and experimenting with Ol English language to enhance their writing.

 

Inquiry:

 

In Inquiry, the Grade 3’s and 4’s have been learning about Australian History. They’ve covered topics such as Australian flags, national identity and the first fleet. For their end-of-term project they have created fantastic presentations about national holidays and days of commemoration. They researched their topics, designed presentations, and then presented these awesome pieces of work to their peers. Here are some slides from the students in 34C:
