Ryan’s Rambling

Dear Families,
I hope you have had a wonderful week. The cold weather has persisted, but it has been nice to have some rain.
At Assembly this morning, our 1/2 students stole the show with their Minibeasts parade. If you ever wanted to know some amazing facts about minibeasts, just ask our 1/2 students. They have become resident experts on everything from spiders, to flies, to beetles and much more. Thank you to the many parents who took the time out of their busy days to be part of the celebration.
We had the staff from Magpie Primary School visit our school this week, as they are looking at revising and refining their Literacy instructional practice. I thank our staff for taking the time to share their classrooms with teachers from other schools, as Dana Street plays its part in building the ‘system’ of Government Education. The teachers from Magpie were impressed with how well our students understood routines and structures around our learning.
The excitement for our Term 3 School Production is building! The Lead Auditions were conducted early this week, and I am excited to hear about who is going to be leading the show this year. We sent out some communications this week, but the date for the Production is on the 28th of August, at Her Majesty’s Theatre. Ticketing information will be available early next term. Please save the date!
This week, our two Provisional Psychologists, Kyla and Nina are finishing up with us. It has been wonderful working with both of them and they have had such a profound impact on some of our students. Thank you to both Kyla and Nina.
Thank you to the many families who have already registered for our upcoming 3 Way Conferences. Please make sure that you check your Sentral messages regarding this and book in when you get the chance.
Have a fantastic weekend.
Ryan 😊
