Assistant Principal's

Report

I hope you all have had a relaxing break and everyone is ready for a great Term 3. We have been busy right from the start, with plenty taking place in Week 1 already.

100 Days of Prep

On Friday, our Prep students celebrated 100 days of school! Dressed as 100-year-olds, the children participated in a range of engaging activities designed to mark this exciting milestone, from building with 100 blocks to a huge game of pass the parcel. The celebration was a wonderful way to reflect on how far they’ve come. A big thank you to Molly and Bronte for all the preparation they put into the day to ensure the students had an amazing time.

Interschool Sport Finals

On Tuesday, the FNPS AFL team took part in a round robin division tournament. Despite the challenging weather, the team kept a smile on their faces and gave their best effort in every game. They should be proud of all their efforts to make it this far. Thank you also to Ben for taking the students along.

The FNPS Soccer team also played in their finals. You can read about their day in an article written by some team members in this newsletter. Good luck to our T Ball and Netball teams who are playing this week.

Child safety and wellbeing at FNPS: information for families and the school community

FNPS is committed to providing an environment where students are safe and feel safe.

Our child safety framework includes policies, codes and procedures that explain how we support and maintain the safety and wellbeing of our students and protect them from harm. These documents are available on our website:  https://www.fitzroynthps.vic.edu.au/policies

We are also committed to continuous improvement of our child safety framework. We are currently reviewing our child safety policies and practices to ensure they are up-to-date and effective.

Our students and families are important partners in this process. We welcome your feedback or ideas on ways we can improve our approach to child safety and wellbeing.

State Cross Country Finals

Congratulations to Sol, who competed in the State Cross Country finals in the 11-year-old division on Thursday. Sol progressed through several stages to make it all the way to state and has demonstrated our school values throughout the entire journey! Well done, Sol!

School Council Sub-Committees

The Policy and Curriculum, as well as the Community Engagement sub-committees, are currently looking for parent or carers to join their teams. These sub-committees play an important role in shaping different aspects of school life and are a great way to get involved in the FNPS community. Joining a sub-committee is a meaningful way to contribute without the larger time commitment required for School Council—plus, it’s a great way to connect with other families and staff. If you’re interested, come and chat to Tania or myself, or send us an email.

Have a great week,

Joe.
